The WUN is an international alliance that now includes 14 leading research universities in the United States, Britain, Europe, and China. At Penn State, researchers in the following areas are part of the WUN: oceanography and climatology; materials science and engineering; public policy; globalization and the geography of the new world; acoustics; bioinformatics; digital libraries; and outreach and education.
