Mouse and Rat Biomethodology Training classes

The online Mouse Biomethodology class is now available: scroll down to begin.

The Rat Biomethodology class is currently under construction. Please check back frequently; each training class will be made available as soon as it is completed.

Please use the information and links on this page to complete the ARP Mouse or Rat Biomethodology class. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, in-person training classes are not being scheduled at this time. Instead, we are using hybrid versions that include online presentations with the opportunity for in-person training if needed.

To complete the Mouse or Rat Biomethodology class:

Read through all the online material specific to the class you are taking (i.e., rat or mouse). Each class contains multiple sections (presentations) and may include hyperlinks to videos that you are encouraged to watch. After completing the online presentations, please take the online quiz (specific to the class you completed). Your quiz score will automatically be submitted to ARP and recorded. A score of at least 80% is required to pass the quiz and be recorded as having completed the training class.

If, after completing the online class, you would like hands-on training in a specific procedure please contact the ARP (865-1495) or an ARP veterinary technician or veterinarian. We can schedule an individual or pair training session to meet your needs.

This training is intended for PSU faculty, staff and students listed on currently approved IACUC protocols using rodents. Please contact the ARP office at 865-1495 for additional information.
