Graduate SchoolEva J. Pell, Senior Vice President for Research, also holds the title of Dean of the Graduate School. In August 2001, she addressed the Graduate School Convocation on the subject of research ethics. See "The Road to Success in Research and Scholarship Must be Paved with Integrity and Responsibility: not just good intentions." While administratively separate, the two positions are philosophically linked. Graduate education is recognized as the key junction of Penn State's educational and research missions. Connecting and combining the University's diverse goals, graduate education promotes an environment in which inquiry and discovery can flourish.
