DESCRIPTION and ADVANTAGES:

A new side thruster design providing precise, efficient, quiet, operation in a compact and affordable package.

· All-electric drive greatly simplifies design and supportability (no hydraulic motor, valves, reservoir or hydraulic lines)

· Two independently operated electric motors are mounted on thruster centerline, eliminating right angle gear drives and attendant noise

· Two independently operated counter-rotating (mirror image) propeller blades providing precise maneuverability

· State of the art blade and motor support strut designs increase efficiency and minimize hydrodynamic noise

· Unique seal design permits operating at much greater depths than current commercial thrusters

· Seawater lubricated fluid film journal and thrust bearings in lieu of noisier sealed roller bearings

· Compact modular design configured around thruster tunnel for easy integration
