Researchers seek healthy adults for tongue movement study

Speech Production Laboratory at the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at PSU is conducting this research study.

Spend less than one and a half hours in our research lab on the ground level of Ford building. This study examines typical speech movement characteristics. You will have sensors positioned on your face and tongue. Then you will say words and sentences. In addition, your weight and height will be measured. Data obtained from your participation will help us to understand speech production in adults with motor speech disorders.

No Gender Requirements
Starting Age in Years: 
43
Ending Age in Years: 
90
Additional Inclusion Criteria:

  • Are between 43 and 90 years of age 
  • Are a native speaker of American English
  • Have normal hearing
  • Have no neurologic and/or speech/language disorders
  • Are from Pennsylvania, New York, or New Jersey
