National Forum on Additive Manufacturing Education & Training

Tue, Oct. 11, 2016 - 8:00 AM to Wed, Oct. 12, 2016 - 7:59 AM
Penn Stater Conference Center & Hotel

Penn State’s Center for Innovative Materials Processing through Direct Digital Deposition (CIMP-3D) invites you to attend the National Forum on Additive Manufacturing Education & Training on Oct. 11-12, 2016 at the Penn Stater Conference Center & Hotel in State College, PA: http://www.cimp-3d.org/e12

This year’s forum provides an opportunity to learn how others are teaching their students – and retraining the current workforce – to use additive manufacturing and 3D printing.  Regional and community efforts from around the nation will be featured as well as efforts underway at universities across the country (MIT, University of Tennessee Knoxville, University of Louisville, Virginia Tech, South Dakota State University, University of Texas – Austin, University of Texas – El Paso, University of Wisconsin, and of course Penn State).

You’ll get to hear what companies like GE, Lockheed Martin, Pratt & Whitney, Boeing, and others are struggling with when hiring engineers to design for additive manufacturing and also learn about worker training programs at UL, NIST, NextFab, ASM, SME, among others.  The latest in advances in hybrid manufacturing, topology optimization, and CAD will also be discussed by DMG Mori, SolidWorks, SciArt, and 3D Systems.

We are extremely excited that our Keynote Speaker is Charles “Chuck” Hull, the founder of 3D Systems and “father of 3D printing” during lunch on Oct. 11.  Hope you can join us!

Registration is free thanks to America Makes.  Please register by Oct. 1 via: http://www.cimp-3d.org/e12
