I am conducting a research experiment in concert hall acoustics from 10/29/16 through 11/07/16 and am looking for 20 or more participants. The experiment will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes of your time. The experiment will consist of listening to short classical music in a simulated concert hall environment, and evaluating the different excerpts. Testing will take place in Applied Science Building room 201G. The signals will be at a controlled volume. The compensation for your voluntary participation will be $15 (in the form of a gift card).
In order to participate you must:
1) Be 18 years of age or older;
2) Have a hearing threshold of 15 dB HL or better (this will be assessed at the start of your testing time). If you do not qualify for our study, we will provide you with a $5 gift card as compensation for your time;
3) Have a minimum of 5 years of formal musical training (i.e. private music lessons, a combination of ensemble and private lessons, etc.) and be currently musically active (i.e. taking private lessons and/or participating in a formal ensemble).
To schedule a testing time, please go to SPRALacoustics.simplybook.me and sign up for a testing time that fits your schedule. Please contact me (at SPRAL.acoustics@gmail.com) if you would like more information or have any other questions. Thanks!
