Get FIT! Indoor Cycling Exercise Intervention, Ages 18-28 years

The purpose of this research is to compare the effects of an immersive cycling experience with traditional cycling classes. Following a submaximal heart rate test, you will either be assigned to the immersive or traditional cycling group for 6 weeks, take a break from planned exercise for 3 weeks, and then be assigned to the opposite cycling group for another 6 weeks.  The 45-minute classes are offered at FITOLOGY (542 Westerly Parkway, State College) and we ask that you participate in 12-18 classes per 6-week block. You will be compensated with an 8-week membership ($140) for unlimited classes to FITOLOGY after the final set of tests.  During the study period, we ask that you wear a Polar A360 heart rate monitor ($200) that you will be allowed to keep if you complete the protocol.

To participate, you must be between 18 to 28 years of age without completing planned exercise regularly for the last 3 months

If you are interested in participating or have any questions, please contact Jinger Gottschall at 814.404.6639 or jinger@psu.edu.
