- Research Development Associate
Parker works with faculty and research offices across Penn State to facilitate research program development and coordinate faculty teams as they develop university-wide, multi-institution, interdisciplinary research proposals. Parker's expertise includes technical proposal writing and international project management.
Parker joined SIRO in 2017. He earned an MS in International Affairs from the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. He also supported the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Global Problems MBA coursework for the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship. His diverse international research support experiences include work in Merida, Mexico on mosquito control for minimizing transmission of dengue fever and Zika Virus. Prior to his work at Penn State, Parker worked as the Carter Center’s Program Assistant for the Global Access to Information Program where he developed briefings, proposals, contracts and memoranda of understanding, which supported projects and partners in multiple locations. Outside of work, Parker is an outdoor and sports enthusiast with regular contributions to soccer blogs.
