Although there is currently NO active solicitation for the NSF- Science and Technology Centers (STC) program, we are conducting an internal downselect in anticipation of a call for preproposals so that selected project teams have additional time to prepare.
Until the new solicitation comes out, we are basing this downselect on the most recent solicitation (NSF 14-600). It is expected that Penn State may submit 3 preproposals.
To support team development and preproposal preparation, Penn State will initially provide $10,000 in seed funding to each selected team. |
The NSF STC Program enables innovative research and education projects of national importance that require a Center mode of support to achieve the research, education, and knowledge-transfer goals shared by the partners. STCs conduct world-class research in partnerships among academic institutions, national laboratories, industrial organizations, and/or other public/private entities to create new and meaningful knowledge of significant benefit to society.
