Due to the rapidly evolving circumstances regarding COVID-19, and the University’s focus on social distancing and the health and well-being of the community, the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research, in consultation with the Diving Control Board, has decided to suspend all diving activities.

All dive activities are suspended at this time, regardless of whether the research is considered to be essential. This decision was made in support of the health and well-being of the diving community. Dive plan applications may continue to be submitted per standard procedures. However, no new dive plans will be approved to start until after the dive restriction has been lifted. Additional communications will be sent at that time. In the meantime, PIs and Lead Divers for existing projects are advised to develop contingency plans to begin dive activities after the dive restriction is lifted.
