- Manage existing relationships with our partners in joint innovation centers at various locations around the world.
- Seek funding opportunities that promote joint research projects, faculty exchange and graduate student training.
- Direct and assist with proposal writing.
Professional Background
Dr. Xu is appointed as the Director, Joint Innovation Partnership (JIP) at Penn State SIRO. He is also a Professor of Engineering Science & Mechanics at Pennsylvania State University. His research is in optoelectronic materials and devices. Dr. Xu obtained his PhD degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He was the recipient of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Career Award in 2009 and the Rustum and Della Roy Research Award in Materials of Pennsylvania State University. He currently sits on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Electronic Materials and the SPIE Journal of Nanophotonics. He have been the Chair of the Fall Meeting of the Electrochemical Society, Symposium on Semiconductor Nanocrystal and Metal Nanostructure Enhanced Photonic Devices, and an Executive Committee member of the SPIE Photonic West.
