Instructions for Accessing PRAMS from Home

Penn State's electronic submission system is accessed via the PRAMS website, www.prams.psu.edu.

Accessing PRAMS (www.prams.psu.edu) from outside of the Penn State Computer Network (e.g. home) requires using the VPN client.

Instructions for dowloading and using VPN in order to access PRAMS outside of the Penn State Computer Network (not for Vista 64-bit):

  1. Go to http://downloads.its.psu.edu - you will need to authenticate using your PSU Access user ID and password (not the one you use to log onto your office computer - the one you use to log into Angel, ESSIC, etc.)
  2. Click on "Connecting to Penn State."
  3. Click on "VPN."
  4. Click on "Version 5.0.02.0090."
  5. Log in again using your PSU Access user ID and password.
  6. Save to your Desktop.
  7. Go to your Desktop and double-click the file you just downloaded.
  8. Unzip the file.
  9. Follow the Wizard instructions.

To use the VPN Client once installed:

  1. From the Start Menu, select: All Programs, Cisco Systems VPN Client, VPN client.
  2. Choose "ISPtoPSU" and press "Connect."
  3. Enter your PSU Access ID and password.
  4. Once connected you will be able to access PRAMS sites using your browser.
