- An Assurance is the documentation of an institutional commitment to comply with Federal regulations and maintain adequate programs and procedures for the protection of human participants.
- This is the principal mechanism for compliance oversight by the Office for Human Research Protections
- Penn State has an approved FWA with the Department of Health & Human Services. This Assurance is for University Park and all campus locations with the exception of the College of Medicine located at the Hershey Medical Center. The College of Medicine has its own FWA.
