Research Grant Agreement

Research Grant Agreement

A Research Grant is a fixed-price agreement used when a sponsor desires to support fundamental basic research at the University. Use of the Research Grant is not appropriate when the results of the project could be of commercial value to a sponsor. In such cases, the University’s Sponsored Research Agreement should be used.

Research Grants are treated as a ‘Restricted Grant’ in the University’s Funding Matrix (see Research Administration Policy RA04).

Funding Limitation: As with all fixed-price research agreements, Research Grants greater than $100,000 require the review and approval of the Office of Sponsored Programs prior to submission.
