The Office of the Senior Vice President for Research coordinates the various University policies and procedures that affect the research program and interacts with such governing bodies as the University Research Council, the Graduate Council, the Faculty Senate, and the Board of Trustees to strengthen support for the University's research activities. Office for Research Protections

The University has established five review committees to ensure that research is conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines. These are the Biomedical Institutional Review Board, Social Science Institutional Review Board, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, University Biosafety Committee, and the University Isotopes Committee. These committees are comprised of faculty, staff, and community representatives appointed by the Vice President for Research. The reviews are coordinated by the Office for Research Protections (ORP), which provides resources on the following topics:
