Researchers seek men or women who know or suspect they have or have a family history of high blood pressure

Research Participant Criteria

To be eligible for this study, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Gender: Male or Female
  • Age: 40 - 60 Years
  • Men and women who either have or suspect they have high blood pressure
  • Nonsmoker
  • No heart/blood pressure medications
  • Not taking oral contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy
  • Not pregnant

Non-adrenergic mechanisms of locally mediated cutaneous vasoconstriction in young and aged skin Part 2: The Effect of Hupertension

Purpose of the study is to investigate changes in skin blood flow due to high blood pressure.

Location: Noll Laboratory
Approximate Participant Study Length: 2 Weeks

3-4 visits required

Visit 1:  Screening and blood pressure visit -1 hour

Visit 2:  24 hour blood pressure monitor setup -15 minutes (can be combined with visit 1)

Visit 3:  Microdialysis experiment  -5 hours

Visit 4: Biopsy (optional) -1 hour (can be combined with visit 3)

Compensation: $190
