Enhancing engagement in a local community via mobile technology
Graduate students in the College of Information Sciences & Technology are looking for participants to help test a local history app developed for Android devices. The study involves using the app on a walking tour of historical locations in State College using a provided device and will be followed by an interview about use of the app. Participants will be compensated $10 for their time. Participants will be asked to take a short pre-survey about their uses of computing devices, then take a 45-60 minutes self-guided tour of historical locations in Downtown State College using a mobile device provided by the researchers. Participants will then be interviewed on their experience using the application.

Approximate Participant Study Length: 2 Hours
Research will start in May 2012 through July 2012, on weekdays and weekends as weather permits as it involves walking outside. Participants will be scheduled between 10 am and 8 pm, depending on their availability.
