Researchers seek particpants for local history application study
Research Study Details
Enhancing engagement in a local community via mobile technology
Graduate students in the College of Information Sciences & Technology are looking for participants to help test a local history app developed for Android devices. The study involves using the app on a walking tour of historical locations in State College using a provided device and will be followed by an interview about use of the app. Participants will be compensated $10 for their time. To schedule a time to participate, please email hrobinson@ist.psu.edu
Participants will be asked to take a short pre-survey about their uses of computing devices, then take a 45-60 minutes self-guided tour of historical locations in Downtown State College using a mobile device provided by the researchers. Participants will then be interviewed on their experience using the application.

Research will start in May 2012 through July 2012, on weekdays and weekends as weather permits as it involves walking outside. Participants will be scheduled between 10 am and 8 pm, depending on their availability.
