Socioeconomic Status, Community Contexts and Mothers' Perspectives of Academic Summer Vacation
This study seeks to understand the role that socioeconomic status and community context plays in a children's opportunities to learn during summer vacation. All participants will be asked to take part in one survey and three interviews - one in the spring, one in the summer and one in the fall. Some mothers and their children will be asked to participate in follow-up study consisting of photographs (if you do not have a digital camera one will be provided), journals and observations of your family.

Months
The study will begin in spring of 2012 and end in early fall of 2012. During the course of the study, all participants will be required to partake in three surveys - each lasting up to 90 minutes. Some participants will be asked to participate in a deeper level of the study by participating in observations, documenting summer activities in a journal and taking photographs.
