How to obtain Federal Agency user account
NSF FastLane Registration
Prior to submitting a proposal to the National Science Foundation (NSF), you will need an NSF FastLane account. Please contact your College Research Administrator for assistance to set up your account. If you do not have a College Research Administrator, or he or she is unavailable, the Office of Sponsored Programs will be able to help you.
Please provide the following information when requesting an NSF FastLane account:
- Name
- E-mail address
- Phone number
- Fax number
- Department
- Highest degree and year obtained
After your account is set up, you will receive an E-mail with your NSF ID and temporary password. You will be asked to change that password the first time you log into FastLane. You will need both the ID and password to log into the system.
Grants.gov
Grants.gov accounts are only required for individuals with delegated signature authority. If you are a faculty member hoping to submit a proposal to a federal agency requiring submission via grants.gov, please contact your College Research Administrator. Faculty members can obtain funding announcements through Grants.gov without having an account.
NIH eRA Commons
Prior to submitting a proposal to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), you will need an NIH eRA Commons account. Please contact your College Research Administrator for assistance to set up your account. If you do not have a College Research Administrator, or he or she is unavailable, the Office of Sponsored Programs will be able to help you.
Once the account has been established, you will receive an e-mail from NIH with your username and password.
