Instructions for completing Biosafety 101 Training
The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) is responsible for ensuring that all Pennsylvania State University laboratory personnel (excluding Hershey Medical Center and the College of Medicine) who work with infectious agents that require handling above Biosafety Level 1 are aware of the potential hazards involved in handling these materials and use the proper precautions to protect themselves.
Instructions for Online Biosafety 101 Training:
- Click the link below and login.
- Click on the Biological Safety link in the left-hand column.
- Click on Biosafety 101.
- Following the instructions that appear to review the online training material.
- At the end of the training material, trainees must successfully pass 10 question quiz with a score of at least 80%. If you fail, the quiz may be taken again; after that, the entire course must be redone. After passing the quiz, you may print out a certificate of completion for your records. You must also email a screen shot (ctrl+prnt scrn) of the certificate to email@example.com to receive credit for the course. The course may be taken anytime.
