Job Responsibilities
Monica is the lead support for the Strategic Interdisciplinary Research Office. She arranges meetings, seminars, workshops, conferences, etc. Monica processes financial/human resources forms and monitors/maintains the SIRO budget. She is also responsible for maintaining the SIRO web pages, acts as a liaison to internal and external contacts, coordinates travel for staff, and devlops presentations and meeting materials.
Professional Background
Monica has been employed at Penn State since 1998. She held several positions throughout Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering, the Student Insurance Office, Information Technologies, the Nanofabrication Facility and the OSVPR Finance Office. Monica now holds the title of Administrative Support Coordinator. She earned her associate’s degree from the Williamsport School of Commerce in 1993 and is a graduate of the ACES Program (April 2010), she is a Penn State Certified Research Administrator (CRA) as of April 2010, and also graduated from the Research Fellows Program (December 2016).
