2020 PEDIATRIC CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION GRANTS

The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation identifies and invests in leading edge research that demonstrates the best hope for a cure to childhood cancer. PCRF is a pioneer in eliminating childhood cancer through our ability to identify and fund cutting edge research. PCRF exclusively targets funds toward emerging and breakthrough opportunities.

Three grant opportunities currently exist:

 Basic Research Science Grant (up to $250,000 per year, for three years)
 Translational Research Grant (up to $100,000 per year, for up to two years)
 Emerging Investigator Fellowship (up to $50,000 per year for one year)

Policies and procedures
 PCRF requires the submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI) through Proposal Central. An institution may only submit one LOI per award type. Multiple LOIs should not be submitted by the same researcher.
 Researchers not previously funded by the foundation are typically funded at the Emerging Investigator Fellowship level.
 Selected researchers will be invited to submit a grant application via Proposal Central. The applications deadline is May 31st.

There will be an internal downselect for each of the three opportunities. The internal nominee will be identified by February 21, 2020. The deadline for the external LOI submission is March 1, 2020.

Application must follow the following format:

Margins: Use standard paper size (8 ½" x 11). Use 1/2 inch margins (top, bottom, left, and right) for all pages. No information should appear in the margins except page numbers.
Font: Use Arial, font size of 11 points.

Prospective applicants should upload their proposal in a single PDF file containing the following:

1. Summary of your research proposal, including any preliminary data that supports the hypothesis being tested.
2. Lay Abstract
3. Address the following questions by stating each questions below followed by your answer (LOIs that do not follow this requirement will not be considered):
 How does this proposal fit the goals and objectives of PCRF?
 What need/issue are you addressing?
 Why is your approach novel?
 What outcomes do you hope to achieve?
 Why are you and your institution the best equipped to carry out this activity?

*the 3 items above should not exceed 3 pages.


4. Indicate which of the 3 grant types you are applying for (Basic Research, Translational Research, or Emerging Investigator). If not the Emerging Investigator Fellowship, provide a 1 page summary of work completed during your prior Emerging Investigator Fellowship.

5. Principal Investigator biosketch.

6. Reference letters (2 maximum).
