The Animal Care and Use program in the Office for Research Protections introduces two new resources for researchers. First is the New PI Checklist, which can aid new researchers in navigating the requirements for conducting animal research at Penn State.
Also available is a recording of a recent webinar: IACUC Requirements -- Researcher Lab Training Documentation. This webinar discussed expectations for documenting training within labs conducting animal research.
Finally, there is a new IACUC policy: IACUC Policy 9, “Isoflurane Machine Certification.” The policy outlines the required service schedule for anesthetic vaporizer machines used with animals. View all IACUC policies and guidelines.
