Millennium Scholars Program

The Millennium Scholars Program was created to support a diverse group of undergraduate students who are pursuing degrees in STEM fields. The Program provides students with advising, financial, and academic support. The students that are accepted into this competitive program are expected to excel in their academic pursuits and participate in research. These students are also encouraged to continue their education after they receive their bachelor's degree. The executive director of the program is Charles Fisher.

The Millennium Scholars Program, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, and the Penn State Postdoc Society collaborated to prepare a presentation for the incoming Millennium scholars. This presentation was designed to introduce various research topics to the incoming freshman students, while also giving the incoming freshman students a chance to explore one of State College's most famous hiking trails, Mt. Nittany.

Pallavi Eswara,  introduced the scholars to the day's events, and about the role and services of Office of Postdoctoral Affairs. Invited postdocs gave presentations pertaining to their research. They were Dr. Kari Frank from Astronomy, Dr. Prasad Krishnan from Chemistry, Dr. Brian Nathan from Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences, Dr. Raghav Poudyal from Chemistry, Dr. Jalaj Upadhyay from Computer Science.
