Penn State Research Database - Publication Coverage

Information in the database comes from a variety of sources. In addition to data that is fed by Penn State, the bulk of publications are fed from Scopus. New publications are added to your profile weekly. 

There are more than 66 million records in Scopus, including: 

Journals:

  • More than 22,748 peer-reviewed journals
  • More than 320 trade journals
  • Articles-in-press

 

Books: 

  • More than 558 book serials, accounting for 34,000 individual book volumes and 1.3 million items
  • More than 138,000 non-serial books, with 20,000 added each year
  • Subject areas: Focus on Social Sciences and Arts & Humanities, but also  includes Science, Technology & Medicine (STM)
  • Coverage years: Back to 2005 (2003 for A&H)
  • Book types: Monographs, edited volumes, major reference works, and graduate level text books
  • Publishers can proactively suggest their book forward flow for Scopus indexing via the Scopus Book Suggestion Form

 

Penn State is also importing Web of Science publications, and will soon include grants, research projects and instrumentation information into the database.
