- Senior Proposal Generalist
Raquel serves the Penn State Research Administration community with a focus on proposal submissions. She is a member of the OSP Proposal Team, which submits proposals to state and federal agencies, industries, and non-profits for various units experiencing immediate staffing needs or significant increases in proposal submissions.
Raquel’s career in Academia began at Iowa State University in her fiscal officer position for the Roy J. Carver Department of Biochemistry, Biophysics & Molecular Biology and further developed when promoted to the Grant Development Coordinator for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Raquel’s experience includes budgeting, project management, proposal development, and pre- and post-award research administration for multiple departments within the university.
Prior to her career in academia, Raquel gained over a decade of experience in the pharmaceutical industry which included audit, compliance, sales and use tax, and international accounting.
Raquel has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Iowa State University.
Raquel joined the Office of Sponsored Programs in February 2024 bringing with her extensive experience in industry and Research Administration in Academia.
