CITI Training

  • CITI: OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Training is required for Penn State faculty, staff, and students who are listed on research or teaching protocols that involve the handling of human blood, blood products, body fluid, tissue and/or cell lines. This training must be updated annually.
  • CITI: Yearly BioSafety Training is required for all investigators and personnel who conduct research or teaching involving regulated materials, which includes infectious agents and recombinant DNA (see RP11). This training is also required for members of the Insitutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). A refresher training must be taken annually and the full training must be completed once every 6 years.
  • CITI: DURC Training is required for all investigators and personnel who are engaged in research or teaching involving the use of BSL3 agents. This training must be completed once every 3 years.
  • CITI: DURC Training is required for all researchers on a DURC protocol and all Insutitutional Research Entity (IRE) committee member. This training must be updated annually.

 

Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)

In addition to the OSHA and BioSafety training, Penn State's Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) offers a number of training classes for faculty, staff, and students. Contact EHS to see which trainings may be applicable to your lab or program area.
