Description of the Award: 

2024 Focus: Contributions to environmental sustainability through development of green analytical technologies, methods, or laboratory working environments.

The purpose of the Agilent Early Career Professor Award is to:

  • Promote and encourage excellent research enabling measurements of importance to Agilent Technologies and the world
  • Establish strong collaborative relationships between Agilent researchers and leading professors early in their career
  • Build the prominence of Agilent as a sponsor of university research

Selection Criteria

  • Alignment with the Focus Topic: Contributions to environmental sustainability through development of green analytical technologies, methods, or laboratory working environments.
  • Significant original research contributions enabling solutions of importance to Agilent and the world
    (ref: sustainable lab solutions; my green lab)
  • Innovation and outstanding potential for future research contributions
  •  

Award Eligibility:

  • Professor must hold a tenure-tracked faculty position
  • Must have completed Ph.D. or M.D. residency within 12 years of award year
    (additional extensions may apply, please see FAQ)

Award Information

  • An unrestricted award of a total of $120,000 in support of the professor's research paid to the university in two annual installments.
    • Option to use all or part of award to obtain Agilent products at 50% discount
    • Option to accelerate payments to facilitate procurement of equipment with list price over $120,000

2.) Summary of Research (limit to 2 pages; must include these 3 sections)

  • Section 1: areas of expertise,
  • Section 2: contributions related to Focus Topic, and
  • Section 3: relevance to Agilent and the world.

3.) Curriculum vitae (limit to 3 pages)

  • Education and academic background
  • Key experiences, publications, presentations, and patents
  • Technical and professional recognition, awards, honors, and affiliations

Formatting Guidelines:

  • Font/size: No smaller than 11 pt.
  • Document margins: 1.0” (top, bottom, left and right)
  • Standard paper size (8 ½” x 11)
