Data Management and Human Subjects Research
This webpage provides researchers who conduct human subjects research with helpful information for drafting data management plans (DMPs). Information about Penn State’s Data Management policy can be found on the OSVPR website.
For general help with drafting a DMP:
- Review the Penn State University Libraries Data Management Plan Guide.
- Sign up for a data management and sharing consultation via the Data Learning Center Bookings app.
Prior to an IRB submission, request a DMP review in the DMPTool or by emailing repub@psu.edu.
For questions about selecting a data repository, sign up for a data management and sharing consultation via the Data Learning Center Bookings app.

Get answers to specific questions regarding DMPs for new and existing studies:
- For new studies, send an email to the HRPP Irb-orp@psu.edu.
- For existing studies, contact your assigned IRB Analyst directly https://www.research.psu.edu/irb/analysts.
